Immigration+ Cultural dress: exploring identity through drawing

 

This study contributes new knowledge to the subject of cultural identity and dress through drawing.  Using sequential images a story is told. The research aims to devise an inquiry to employ my artist/researcher/teacher stance, along with social and cultural phenomena, namely art-making and discussion; sharing cross-cultural intercultural dialogue with immigrant women. A children's book was illustrated and written by me in response to and in conjunction with this project: 'The Wonderful World of Clothes.' I am beginning to explore visual aids cards for EAL learners.
